Mabuhay ang Pinoy! If one knows how to bake, she will surely do one good recipe and make changes the next time depending on the outcome.. there is always a big room for improvement and it's nothing to be disappointed of cos in baking it's always the joy in doing it that matters.^_^ After baking a recipe many times, then you might just hit it to perfection. but then, if it is your first time to bake, I bet you have so many experimentations to make before you can really be proud of your work. As for myself, I am comparing one recipe with another and later on, I create my own recipe depending on the kind that suits my taste, there isn't a standard that anyone is compelled to follow, anyone is free to use alternatives or changes as long as the outcome is good and tasty. For a banana cake recipe, it is better to use Cake flour as it gives more moisture to the cake. You may also add evaporated milk and vanilla for more flavor. If you opt to make the cake spongy, separate the eggyolks from the white. Use the yolks in the cake mixture or batter. Beat the eggwhites 'til it becomes stiff and mix the batter to it using the cut and fold method. It's a bit complicated but nevertheless more useful esp when trying to serve more guests. So the choice lies on the baker. Just be free and happy--- whether the baked product is super lovely or looks burnt, the happiness to have created one is the thing that matters most. :))

I tried this recipe but it ended up a disaster because it was too dry and he cake didn't even rise, it just stayed flat. I wasted 2 batches of the entire ingredients because I was planning to make 2 cakes. Lesson learned: don't believe everything you see on the internet.

if you want to learn more about baking techniques, try to enroll in Baking Center (try at PAFMIL Baking Center).. There, they will teach you technically about what ingredients to use and its function..

Harsh naman nang mga tao rito. To think, another national have noticed it. Grammatically incorrective, yes, but she tried her best and Dont keep for yourself what better result out from your ingredients and experiment. This is what is all about SHARING. Criticize, but with LOVE.

We're sharing our experience with the recipe here. If you have nothing constructive to share, shut up! A Filipino trying her best to communicate in English, albeit defective, is nowhere as bad and embarrassing as one bashing someone over the head because she finds another's English defective. Be kind. I think the recipe is a good one, the constructive suggestions on how to make it better are very much appreciated and worth trying.

Hi,MABUHAY mga PINOY!
I'm an aspiring baker and have tried making a banana cake. if you want your cake to be moist, you add 1cup of buttermilk. if no buttermilk is available, you can add 1 tsp of vinegar to your 1 cup of milk. talking about kitchen alternatives,,ahehehe!

add 2 large eggs. Use half cup oil and half cup water. Add 1tsp baking soda. Mix all dry ingredients then the liquid and mix together. No need to mash bananas. Just mix with electric mixer. Then bake in moderate heat oven.

to joy:

wag kang ma-EMBARRASH.. im sure you meant 'embarrass'..
That's exactly my point. wala namang masama kung mag-english sila, kasi nagkakaintindihan naman e kahit papano.. yes, walang masama sa pagtaTagalog since it's our own language but like what u said, nasa internet world tayo so other people are able to read what we're writing. we are also trying to showcase filipino recipes so we need to make the world understand by trying to use the universal language which is english. ang point naman ng language ay magkaintindihan, di ba?..no need to be perfect when it comes to language.. kapag ung mga foreigners nagpipilit magtagalog tuwang tuwa tayo at iniencourage pa natin sila.. pero kapag kapwa natin Filipinos ang nagttry mag-english, kinakahiya natin..what's with the double standard? you should encourage them to learn and be better, not bash them. Hindi naman dapat pagalingan when it comes to language, db? Ang point ng language ay para makipagcommunicate. if you're really embarrassed with other people's wrong grammar, then the right thing to do is to teach them, not put them down.

Hi well somw pretty sharp comments on this. As an Englishman I make banana cake on a regular basis using a similar recipe. If your cake was too dry you cooked too quick. there is plenty of liquid in the eggs and the banana. cook slowly till it firms up and only in the last 10 mins or so increase the temp to do the final cook. David

Try substituting lard in place of butter to make it more moist. my secret ingredient to making delectable moist banana cake is cooking oil. I put 3/4cups of cooking oil in place of the butter. Just remember, the more moisture you want in your cake, the greasier it is.

i was reading the response to your banana cake,it seem to me that in the ingredient list there is no liquid involve also the amount of butter is only 50g thats why the cake will become dry, but other than that it seems easy to make. thank you
